HarborChase | Orlando, FL
On the southwest side of Orlando, the team of Harbor Retirement Associates and Dr. Phillips Charities has developed a welcoming community overlooking the serene vistas of Spring Lake. Located in what was once Dr. Phillips’ orange groves, the fruit of their efforts is HarborChase of Dr. Phillips, a Life Plan resort community that is home to Independent Living, Assisted Living and Memory Care. In keeping with the community vernacular, the architecture is Floridian-Mediterranean style complemented by formal courtyards and lush tropical landscaping.
Unique to this part of Central Florida, the site features a significant grade change from the parking and porte-cochere in the front to the formal dining room overlooking the pool at the rear of the building. This natural high point affords residents on all living levels views of Spring Lake, a natural spring-fed lake of over 100-acres. A dining terrace offers the most unique views. The lower level Wellness Suite and adjacent outdoor pool create an inviting space for residents to be active, enjoy and round of mini-golf, or relax by the fire in the Cabana, while taking in the nightly firework displays from both Disney World and Universal Studios.
Memory Care residents are also treated to their own secure outdoor terrace. Completed with shade structures and walking paths, these residents are free to explore this space and still only be steps away from caregivers. In addition to the numerous garden spaces, each floor of Independent and Assisted Living features well-appointed resident spaces for socialization and planned events and activities.
True to the community-focused legacy of its namesake, HarborChase of Dr. Phillips is part of a larger development that includes a public library and brand new medical center. A shuttle ride or short walk leads to the Dr. Phillips YMCA, with state-of-the-art fitness equipment and an outdoor water park for intergenerational fun. Residents and the community at large are also free to enjoy the lakeside park along the banks of Spring Lake. Gathering spaces such as picnic tables and a gazebo offer close-up encounters with the lake and distant views of Greater Orlando in a surprisingly bucolic setting
